BROOKLYN, New York (WABC) -- A driver was killed and three occupants hospitalized when her apparently speeding car crashed into an New York City Department of Environmental Protection truck on the Belt Parkway in Brooklyn. QUEENS (PIX11) A fiery four-car crash early Monday on the Belt Parkway left at least five people injured and traffic snarled ahead of the morning rush, officials said. Police say the responding officers' vehicle was stopped in the left lane with its emergency lights activated when a speeding 2019 Nissan Rogue collided with the rear of the police vehicle and struck the 35-year-old male who was standing next to his car. The eastbound lanes of the parkway were shut down east of 150th Street for more than six hours as police worked to determine what caused the driver to lose control. There were four other passengers inside of the van at the time of the crash who suffered minor injuries and were in stable condition, cops said. The collision sent the 35-year-old male over the center guardrail and onto the roadway of the eastbound lane of the Belt Parkway.
